Bali Hai Golf Club
Smoked filled casinos with aroma-scented air sometimes get to you? Take a tram or walk on the Strip and ΒΌ mile south of Mandalay Bay you'll find the Bali Hai Golf Club.
Unlike most Las Vegas golf courses, which often require a 30- to 60-minute drive just to reach, the Bali Hai Golf Club is located smack dab on the famous Las Vegas Strip, easily the most accessible championship track for those on a Las Vegas golf vacation.
"Bali Hai has resort-style, golfer-friendly trademarks all over," wrote Brandon Tucker in a LasVegasGolf.com course review. "Fairways are huge, bowled at many times, and fairway bunkers are pretty easy to fly with a good poke off the tee."
This Lee Schmidt and Brian Curly, par-71 design plays 7,002 yards from the tips and has a slope rating 130.
There's a real taste of the South Pacific here - as the name might suggest. More than 4,000 palm trees line the golf course and there are other tropical trappings throughout: black volcanic rock outcroppings, white sand in the bunkers, an incredible array of tropical plants and even an alligator and gorilla on the shores of the blue lagoon ... statues of course.
Most golfers will be happy to use driver throughout their round here as the course doesn't throw many tricks at you. However some of the greens can be deceptive with swales breaking front to back.
